Clients often ask for a single number. The honest answer depends on how much of the wall we have to rebuild before we can finish it.

Preparation is usually 30–40% of a refresh. Filling, sanding, skimming and priming take more labour hours than the finish coats.

Materials are typically 25–35%. Premium emulsion costs more per litre but covers better and holds colour, so the gap narrows over the life of the job.

Decorative elements — POP cornices, a feature wall in marmorino, new drapery — sit on top and are the easiest place to phase spend across a few months.

Send us photos of each room and we will break the numbers down room by room rather than quoting a vague per-square-metre rate.
