Exterior walls in Lagos face salt-laden air, months of rain and then weeks of harmattan dust. The failure you see — flaking, chalking, dark streaks — almost always starts with preparation, not the paint tin.
We begin every exterior job with a moisture reading and a wash-down. Any wall reading high stays untouched until it dries; sealing damp masonry traps water and guarantees blistering within a season.
For finish, we specify a breathable acrylic emulsion with a high binder content for walls, and a solvent-based enamel for metalwork and joinery. Two full coats, never one thick one.
Colour matters too. Very dark exteriors absorb heat and expand more, which shortens the life of the film. Warm mid-tones — sand, clay, muted olive — hold their look far longer.
